Message	Depending on his insurance company and the initial quotes, he might be able to have a little "talk" with the body shop and work out a deal to lower the quote or find a way to get the insurance company to NOT total it. This is pretty easy with paint/dent jobs but with the frame it might be a little more difficult since it's a safety/liability issue of sorts. I'd exhaust all possibilties though.
